I'm waiting...

I'm really curious to see how the new Utahraptor will look like, but I guess we'll have to wait for that 'till autumn 2014 when the papers come out if I remember right...

Anyway, I was bored yesterday evening and had to draw something so I decided to draw him in all of his now outdated glory: Utahraptor ostrommaysorum (as soon as that paper comes out I'll redraw this)
Utahraptor is the biggest Dromaeosaurid we know of. With a length of 6 or 7 metres and standing as tall, or even a bit taller, as a human, this was a predator not to be messed with. His footh claw of 35 cm showes you why. Utahraptor lived during the Early Cretaceous, his remains were found in the state Utah, that's why he has this name meaning "Plunderer of Utah". As a Dromaeosaur, or raptor, you probably immediately think of a pack hunter because of the mainstream depictions, but the only Dromaeosaur of which is proven to do this is Deinonychus. I see them as solitary hunters or a couple (male and female) hunting together. Hunting in packs or alone, it doesn't matter, that footh claw does massive damage anyway, being driven inside the prey's body to damage organs or the spine or to pin him down to the ground.

I gave him reduced feathers on the arms, I don't think such a big animal doesn't need them anymore, maybe for show only.
No refs used, so if there are mistakes in the shape of the head or something like that it's normal. Why use a ref if it's going to be wrong anyway?
