Dinosaur Zoo: Porcupines and mini tanks by Dontknowwhattodraw94 Dinosaur Zoo: Porcupines and mini tanks by Dontknowwhattodraw94
Bullet; Blue Tianyulong

Size: 90 centimeters.
Weight: 4 kg.
Time period: Late Jurassic
Diet: Plants
Name meaning: Tianyu dragon

A new species bred by InGen for our Dinosaur Zoo. With their small size they are easily to keep in a rather small enclosure while still having enough room. They're of the same size as our Compies, but they're not as cute: along their back and tail they are covered in quills and their head has large scales to protect them underground. We discovered these small ornithopods were diggers not long after they left the hatchery and were given this enclosure. Several entrances lead to an underground chamber our visitors can see when entering the tunnel beneath the cage. Don't make too much noise though and don't tab the glass: it'll disturb the animals.
The behaviour of our Tianyulong is comprable to modern burrowing animals: they're easier scared above ground then other dinosaurs so they might retreat in the safety of their burrow. When there isn't too much of a big crowd around them and the children don't make too much noise you will be able to spot all our seven indivuals. (as long as they're not asleep of course)
Our gamekeepers find these animals a bit difficult to handle because gloves are obliged if one needs to hold them in their hands. The quills are okay, but even though they look like other small ornithopods, Tianyulong has some surprisingly large canines hidden in its mouth.
Filling up the DNA of Tianyulong was a bit hard since they're quite odd dinosaurs. Patridges were used since they're small cursorial dinosaurs too, for the quills our scientists used DNA from our own Psittacosaurus.

Bullet; Blue Liaoningosaurus

Size: 3.70 meters.
Weight: 120 kg.
Time period: Early Cretaceous
Diet: Plants.
Name meaning: Reptile from Liaoning.

A small version of the Ankylosaurids you can see during the Prehistoric Safari and Canou Adventure and, just like Tianyulong, new blood from InGen too. Our scientists managed to get a hold of several of the many undescribed juvenile fossils and because this animal is only known from juveniles they decided to clone them. The other reason why was because these animals were thought to be aquatic piscivores, but after they were released in their enclosure in the hatchery it turned out they were just regular Ankylosaurids. But smaller of course. They do seem to love laying in water, but it's not that they try to hunt or even swim there: the deep part of their pond stays unexplored.
We have three of these dinosaurs at display in, as you might notice, a relatively small enclosure. That's because they simply aren't as fast-moving as other dinosaurs and don't walk much as they know where their food suply is so they mostly are located between the latter and their private pool. At the start they could be seen all over their terrain, but as the plants on the floor got eaten they simply stopped spending their time there. When it regrows they'll probably be more active. Worth noting is that they for some reason don't like grass, but are very fond of the ginkgo fruits that fall every year from the trees.
However, they are loveable characters, our three mini tanks.
DNA from Liaoningosaurus got filled up with that of gilla monsters for the osteoderm armor and giant tortoises to be sure they ended up being herbivores.

Love them, especially the Liaoningosaurus! Can I have some ideas for the next creatures for this zoo? Iharkutosuchus for the Canou Tour, Yi qi and various Chinese maniraptorans for a bird-house like exhibit, Kulindadromeus and Chilesaurus, Pannoniasaurus for a lake exhibit and Austroraptor. But ANY other prehistoric animal would be great!

There is the "Dino-birds" complex that sort of looks like the bird-house exhibit you suggested, but I still need to draw that one.

No other heterodontosaurids planned. I only have a few species left and then I'm done with the Dinosaur Zoo.

The Jurassic Park francise wouldn't ever dare put any accurate feathers on any of their dinosaurs, unless it looks scary.
